The quintessential Southern nut butter, our Peanut Pecan Butter was the first nut butter made by the fledgling Big Spoon Roasters in our co-founders Mark & Megan’s home kitchen in the fall of 2010. Combining the rich, buttery sweetness of slow-roasted Organic Texas pecans, High-Oleic Runner peanuts, raw Organic wildflower honey, and Jacobsen sea salt, this recipe was an instant hit at the local NC farmers’ markets and was named “one of the seven best things we tasted in 2011” by the editors of Food & Wine. Grown by a close-knit community of farmers on North Carolina’s Coastal Plain, our High-Oleic Runner peanuts are 30% higher in heart-healthy fats than other peanuts and are great sources of protein, iron, calcium, magnesium, and the antioxidant resveratrol. These High-Oleic peanuts also offer natural protections against oxidation (rancidity) and the mold that can produce aflatoxin. Every lot of peanuts we receive is also thoroughly tested and given a clean bill of health before we accept it into inventory.
Sourced from a single family-owned orchard in South Texas, our Organic pecans represent the sweet, buttery standard of the South’s favorite nut. In addition to being pure comfort food, pecans contain unsaturated fats that can help lower blood cholesterol, fiber to promote good gut health, and vitamins and minerals proven to help lower blood sugar levels and promote brain function.
Our Organic raw wildflower honey comes from the Sunderbans National Park in Bengal, India, which also serves as a sanctuary for the region’s tigers and other wildlife. Among its many nutritional benefits, raw honey contains inflammation-fighting polyphenols, phytonutrients that boost the immune system, and natural anti-bacterial enzymes.

These options include estimated shipping and arrival dates, but please note that delivery dates are not guaranteed, as they are subject to change by carrier. We don’t add any handling fees to your orders, and we work hard to negotiate the best shipping rates available.

INGREDIENT INTEGRITY
Each ingredient we use is carefully sourced based on our strict standards for taste, sustainability, transparency, and the fair and ethical treatment of everyone involved in producing it. Most of our ingredients are Certified Organic and all are GMO-free. We work exclusively with whole, natural foods, and you won’t find gluten, soy, or anything described as a “flavor” among our ingredients. We also never use fillers or shelf stabilizers like palm oil, hydrogenated oils, or partially hydrogenated oils.
SMALL-BATCH CRAFT
Our skilled food artisans roast, toast, measure, and mix each batch by hand to exacting standards to get the pinnacle of taste and freshness from each ingredient. The small scale of our batch process allows us to craft each jar and bar with incredible precision and care you can taste. This level of focus also allows us to carefully inspect and taste each product to make sure it meets our standards before it is packaged and delivered. Our commitment to keeping production in-house ensures the highest quality standards while also creating sustainable jobs for our team.

I like honey but don't love it--I honestly got this one to try because I thought it might make a good gift for my sister but wanted to try it first. When we were kids, she loved peanut butter and honey sandwiches. The balance in this is perfect and the pecans add a wonderful depth of flavor. My sister is going to love it....assuming I can avoid keeping the jar I order for her!
