Our Figgy Chai Bar is handmade with fresh-roasted peanut butter, heirloom Mission almonds, naturally sweet dried figs, crispy house-baked granola, non-GMO plant-based protein, raw Organic wildflower honey, dates, and our signature blend of masala chai tea spices found in our Chai Spice Peanut & Almond Butter. With fresh-roasted peanut butter as the main ingredient, these bars are not only delicious, but also packed with plant-based protein, powerful antioxidants, and heart-healthy fiber.
Grown by a close-knit community of farmers on North Carolina’s Coastal Plain, our High-Oleic Runner peanuts are 30% higher in heart-healthy fats than other peanuts and are great sources of protein, iron, calcium, magnesium, and the antioxidant resveratrol. These High-Oleic peanuts also offer natural protections against oxidation (rancidity) and the mold that can produce aflatoxin. Every lot of peanuts we receive is also thoroughly tested and given a clean bill of health before we accept it into inventory.
Mission almonds are also nutrition powerhouses, offering vitamin E, magnesium, and 20% more protein than other almond varieties. In addition, they require less water for cultivation, making them a more environmentally sustainable choice. Unlike many almond butter makers out there, we mill our almonds with their anti-inflammatory skins intact, further boosting their antioxidants and heart-healthy fiber in our nut butters.
Our Organic raw wildflower honey comes from the Sunderbans National Park in Bengal, India, which also serves as a sanctuary for the region’s tigers and other wildlife. Among its many nutritional benefits, raw honey contains inflammation-fighting polyphenols, phytonutrients that boost the immune system, and natural anti-bacterial enzymes.
ABOUT OUR BARS
In the early 2000s, our Co-Founder Megan was a triathlete looking for a nutritious energy bar that tasted great, was easy to digest, and was made with whole, real ingredients in line with her values. Nothing checked these boxes, so she made her own with natural peanut butter, whole grains, and dried fruit. When she and Mark started Big Spoon Roasters, she of course started using Big Spoon nut butters in her bar recipes, and our first line of craft-made, small-batch bars was born.
We will always believe that balanced, on-the-go nutrition doesn't have to sacrifice integrity, flavor, or freshness. The proof is in our fresh, handcrafted nut butter bars, which are still made in small batches with our own fresh-roasted nut butter and the best whole ingredients out there. Equally tasty and nutritious without compromise, this is probably the kind of bar you'd make at home if you only had time. Especially coveted by our competitive athlete friends, these fiber-rich, high-protein, antioxidant powerhouses are perfect as fuel for intense workouts and post-adventure recoveries and are also simply delicious hunger-curbing snacks.

Our handcrafted nut butters and bars are freshly made in small batches and typically ship in 2-3 business days. We offer real–time shipping rates for services including USPS Priority Mail, USPS Retail Ground, FedEx – 2nd Day, and FedEx Home Delivery. These options include estimated shipping and arrival dates, but please note that delivery dates are not guaranteed, as they are subject to change by carrier. We don’t add any handling fees to your orders, and we work hard to negotiate the best shipping rates available.

INGREDIENT INTEGRITY
Each ingredient we use is carefully sourced based on our strict standards for taste, sustainability, transparency, and the fair and ethical treatment of everyone involved in producing it. Most of our ingredients are Certified Organic and all are GMO-free. We work exclusively with whole, natural foods, and you won’t find gluten, soy, or anything described as a “flavor” among our ingredients. We also never use fillers or shelf stabilizers like palm oil, hydrogenated oils, or partially hydrogenated oils.
SMALL-BATCH CRAFT
Our skilled food artisans roast, toast, measure, and mix each batch by hand to exacting standards to get the pinnacle of taste and freshness from each ingredient. The small scale of our batch process allows us to craft each jar and bar with incredible precision and care you can taste. This level of focus also allows us to carefully inspect and taste each product to make sure it meets our standards before it is packaged and delivered. Our commitment to keeping production in-house ensures the highest quality standards while also creating sustainable jobs for our team.

These bars, by far, are my absolute favorite of all the bars! They are my midmorning go-to, with an Apple, to get me to my lunch break. I love everything about these bars & they actually give me feel-good serotonin levels in my brain, if that makes sense!!! I would be one sad woman if they ever quit making these bars!

This bar has great flavor with the fig and chai combo. I miss the larger size bars though. I wish they would have kept the bigger bars and made those with the new recipe / more protein. I don't know if the bar is smaller due to shrinkflation or other customers wanted a smaller 'snack' bar vs a 'meal replacement'. I won't buy these again, too small for me and I'm someone that eats smaller meals too.

Thank you so much for the kind words! We appreciate this feedback! We only make changes if it means improving in taste, nutrition, and sustainability. None of those three things can be sacrificed for the sake of another. The re-sized bars include a bit more Non-GMO pea protein and replaced a little of the quinoa crisps and a small percentage of the dried fruit with plant protein crisps made of peas and rice. These ingredients are more expensive and add to our costs of production, per gram.
We received a tremendous amount of feedback over the years that our bars would benefit from being slightly smaller. Many people have said that, as a snack, they are too large. Likewise, as a meal replacement, they are too small. This was a major driver of the decision to change the bar size.
