Crunchy Peanut Butter
Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Soy Free, Palm Oil Free, No Refined Sugar, Vegan
Named the “best peanut butter in the country” by New York Magazine, our Crunchy Peanut Butter is the crunchiest peanut butter on the planet! How do we know? Because it’s the first to combine the incomparable crunch of Hubs Peanuts’ Virginia XL peanuts with the scrumptious roastiness and smooth texture of our directly sourced High Oleic NC Runner peanuts. Blended with touches of fresh sorghum syrup and Jacobsen sea salt, this crunchtacular approach to an American classic might be the most addictive recipe we’ve ever created.
What’s sorghum syrup? Made from the sorghum plant, a gluten-free cereal grain, we call it the maple syrup of the South, but it has a distinctly darker, richer flavor than maple. Naturally rich in iron, calcium, and potassium, our sorghum syrup is slowly cooked in small batches at Muddy Pond Sorghum Mill in Tennessee.
Since its debut in 1932, the approach to making crunchy peanut butter hasn’t changed much - until now. Traditionally, crunchy peanut pieces and halves are blended into a finely ground peanut butter base. In every crunchy peanut butter we’ve seen, the same variety of peanut is used for both the “crunch” and the base. While there are several delicious examples of this tradition, we thought it could be better. We asked, “Why not choose the world’s crunchiest peanut variety for the ‘crunch’ and the best peanut for ground peanut butter as the base?” It’s a simple question with a delicious answer.
On top of its sublime crunch and fresh-roasted flavor, our Crunchy Peanut Butter is a prime example of how nutritious nut butters can be. Grown by a close-knit community of farmers on North Carolina’s Coastal Plain, our High-Oleic Runner peanuts are 30% higher in heart-healthy fats than other peanuts and are great sources of protein, iron, calcium, magnesium, and the antioxidant resveratrol. These High-Oleic peanuts also offer natural protections against oxidation (rancidity) and the mold that can produce aflatoxin. Every lot of peanuts we receive is also thoroughly tested and given a clean bill of health before we accept it into inventory.
Thinking about our mini 3oz jars? They are perfect for traveling (TSA-approved), sampling, or gifting!

INGREDIENT INTEGRITY
Each ingredient we use is carefully sourced based on our strict standards for taste, sustainability, transparency, and the fair and ethical treatment of everyone involved in producing it. Most of our ingredients are Certified Organic and all are GMO-free. We work exclusively with whole, natural foods, and you won’t find gluten, soy, or anything described as a “flavor” among our ingredients. We also never use fillers or shelf stabilizers like palm oil, hydrogenated oils, or partially hydrogenated oils.
SMALL-BATCH CRAFT
Our skilled food artisans roast, toast, measure, and mix each batch by hand to exacting standards to get the pinnacle of taste and freshness from each ingredient. The small scale of our batch process allows us to craft each jar and bar with incredible precision and care you can taste. This level of focus also allows us to carefully inspect and taste each product to make sure it meets our standards before it is packaged and delivered. Our commitment to keeping production in-house ensures the highest quality standards while also creating sustainable jobs for our team.

Didn't know we should be looking for low oleic peanut butter but after thinking about it, it makes sense. The peanut butter was as good as any we've ever had, but it feels better knowing we're not consuming a bad ratio of omega 6, and we can think of peanut butter as healthy oils instead of just an indulgence. Thanks to Big Spoon!
