Our newest Community Blend partner is Feed My Sheep of Durham Inc., a partner of the Durham Children’s Initiative @DCI_NC, who learned about our program through a post just like this! The folks at Feed My Sheep comprise a 100% volunteer staff that provides free meals and bagged groceries to households in the surrounding area of Northeast Durham; their mission is to feed anyone in need and to be a place of healing for the community.
We were able to donate 66 jars of Community Blend nut butter to them earlier this month, and we’re appreciative of the work they’re doing in our area.

What’s Community Blend nut butter?
At the beginning and end of each batch of nut butter we make, there is a tiny amount of excess product. Most companies would write this off as “waste,” but we are committed to reducing our food waste as an ongoing practice, so we found a creative solution!
To create our Community Blends, we jar each bit of excess nut butter with harmonious recipes (Carrot Cake + Chai Spice or Toasted Coconut + Chocolate Sea Salt are two of these delicious combos) to create one-of-a-kind blends that are uniquely delicious. Each month, we donate these jars to organizations that directly combat food insecurity, and in doing so, we drastically reduce our own food waste.
We love that we get to directly partner with local organizations in support of our mission, and we are always looking to expand our list of Community Blend partners. If you know of an amazing organization, please let us know, and in the meantime, give @DCI_NC a follow!
