Located in the beautiful countryside of Grafton, VT, Blake Hill is a third-generation English preservatory that makes a unique selection of sweet, savory, and spicy jams. Founders Vicky Allard and Joe Hanglin purchased Blake Hill Farm in 2004 and soon thereafter began making jams with the wild berries and edible flowers foraged from the land. In 2009, after a friend brought a jar to the local market, he came back with their first order, and Blake Hill was officially born. Creatively infused with honey, liquors, herbs, or spices, their jams and marmalades are the perfect accompaniments to cheese, nut butters, and more.
This month’s featured jam, Classic Fig with Pear & Honey, offers a unique take on fig jam by celebrating the delicate sweetness of figs by combining them with honey and early autumn pears. Even though it’s part of their “cheese pairing” line of jams, we found it particularly irresistible paired with our nut butters. It’s especially delicious on toast with our Peanut Pecan Butter & Toasted Coconut Almond Butter sprinkled with pomegranate seed.
