November Featured AB&J: Jamnation Apricot Red-Handed + Fiji Ginger Almond Butter

Jamnation's goal is simple: to make "damn good jam," combining the best local produce with fair trade spices and unrefined cane sugar. Founder Gillian Reynolds meticulously sources fruit from farms within a 200-mile radius of San Francisco, CA, often tasting 10+ varieties before landing on the perfect fruit for one of her jams.
This month's featured jam, Jamnation Apricot Red-Handed, is a sublime blend of sweet and tart Royal Blenheim apricots, organic unrefined cane sugar, organic lemon juice, and organic almond extract. Royal Blenheims, also known as the "king of apricots," are renowned for their superior flavor but are hard to find because they bruise easily and are therefore unpopular with grocers. Fortunately, Gillian sourced some from a small family farm in Winters, CA, to create this ultra-flavorful jam.

Our Fiji Ginger Almond Butter combines fresh-roasted Mission almonds with a gorgeous, golden-hued crystallized ginger from The Ginger People’s inspiring FIJI GINGER project, organic cane sugar, and sea salt. The resulting vibrant and lemony almond butter is delightful as a breakfast spread on warm waffles, a unique way to wake up your AB&J, a base for an Asian-inspired dressing, and of course, a snack right out of the jar.
