Nestled on a five-acre plot in Pittsboro, NC, Fiddlehead Farm is a food lover's paradise. The small farm and micro-jammery owned by David & Emily Boynton have developed a devoted following for their tiny-batch hot sauces, finishing salts, and jams. They exclusively feature fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown on-site or by nearby farms. In fact, each jar of jam notes the exact farm where the fruit was sourced.
As farmer's themselves, the Boynton's know the labor that comes along with growing and harvesting produce. Perhaps this is why each jam is so clearly made love, craft, and the utmost respect for the integrity of the fruit.
This month's Featured Jam, Roasted Peach Preserves, showcases peaches grown by Kalawi Farms in Eagle Springs, NC. By roasting the peaches before cooking them down in copper pots, the Boynton's coax an intensity of peach flavor that's hard to rival. The result is a deceptively simple jam, remarkably complex in flavor. Each jar contains over a pound of fruit!

Our Almond Ginger Butter combines fresh-roasted Mission almonds with a gorgeous, golden-hued crystallized ginger from The Ginger People’s inspiring FIJI GINGER project, organic cane sugar, and sea salt. The resulting vibrant and lemony almond butter is delightful as a breakfast spread on warm waffles, a unique way to wake up your AB&J, a base for an Asian-inspired dressing, and of course, a snack right out of the jar.
